Bruce Carrington says that the resistance of Naoya Inoue’s punch will not be able to withstand the punches like himself in the pen if he decides to move forward soon. Carrington believes that the “monster” inoue (30-0, 27 kos) is “too small” to face the largest fighters at 126.
Carrington (15-0, 9 kos) will fight for the interim feather title of WBC against Mateus Heita (14-0, 9 kos) in a 12 round struggle this Saturday, July 26 at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York City.
“His father knows he is not ready and I don’t know if he will never be ready,” said Bruce Carrington to Sean Zittel canalGiving your thoughts on Naoya Inoue not being ready to go to the feather weight. “This is not just the style of struggle. The man is small, and these 126 boys are puncturing.”
It is a madness that Inoue expects much longer before going to the feather weight because it is a division that will need most of its remaining youth. Waiting until the age of 33 or 34 would be nonsense.
“I do not know if its punch resistance will be able to support the way we are going to punch here at 126. It is a big difference. Of course, it is only four pounds. It may seem like this, but it is a big difference. The way I drain these guys at 122 and 126. The power is 100% different,” said Carrington.
We saw in the last time of Naoya against Ramon Cardenas that his chin begins to show signs of deterioration. If you had to go to 126, it should be selective in which you are struggling to prevent them from being removed.
“If he fought to me as he fought against Ramon Cardenas, I really don’t think he gets rise in this defeat he had,” said Carrington. “I don’t think another round or two had lasted because I am a finisher. When I have a boy and it hurts, I will take them out of there.”
Inoue is a 32 -year -old old man, and it is doubtful that he has much left after he faces Murodjon
Akhmadaliev and with Nakani. These guys will not fold without removing a few Inoue sheets. If something is left of the “monster” inoue after these clashes, he will want to remain at 122 to fight the opposition. You will not want to climb 126 to mix it with carrington.
“If I and he had to ever fight, it would be a very tactical type of struggle. I really don’t think I can endure my pressure and my punches,” Carrington said about Inoue. “Cardenas had impetus where he could have defeated Inoue. He had the defeat for him, but then Cardenas began to launch Haymakers.”
There is very little possibility that Naoya will ever fight with Carrington with the time he has left in his career. The champions are already frozen at the age of 126. But if Carrington captures a belt on the feather weight next year or two, Inoue would choose one of the other champions. The only thing you want Inoue is the WBA champion, Nick Ball. He is not interested in fighting Wbo champion, Rafael Espinoza, for obvious reasons. It’s too big.
“Inoue began to respect her power a bit and started fighting a little on the backfoot,” said Carrington. “Inoue never liked to fight the back. He never likes to fight like this. He likes to fight the front. When Cardenas would throw his combinations, he would freeze inoue from time to time.”
Inoue was forced to freeze -when Cardenas threw the left hooks because they were so fast and powerful. Those who went land bothered Inoue, but took them well, except for the one that left him in the second round.
“If you are able to maintain this level of respect, you can have your way with Inoue. Cardenas left it.
What Carrington does not say say is that Cardenas had only one left hook and nothing more in his game. His right hand was nothing and he had no fist variation to prevent Inoue neutralizing his offense. If I had more tools, I would have taken off for Inoue safe.
“I would not fall.
Ramon Cardenas fought like a madman after Inoue falls in the second round. He started throwing hooks to the wild left, missed badly, and finally Inoue took him out of there in the seventh round.
