A few days after welcoming her third baby into the world, Mahomes of Brittany shares information about her daughter Golden Raye’s nursery.
In Instagram video shared Thursday, January 16, Brittany revealed that the inspiration behind the look of the nursery was derived from her and her husband’s moniker Patrick Mahomes choice for their second daughter.
“When I found out I was having a girl, my mind immediately went to pink for the nursery,” explained Brittany showing the blush walls with golden accents throughout.
She added, “I really wanted to go really warm and pink with Golden’s nursery. And then obviously tying the gold in just to go with her name was really where we got most of the inspiration for her room.”
As the video reveals the small details of their baby’s room, Brittany shared what she believes is the most important piece inside the space, revealing the cozy rocking chair in one of the room’s corners .
“I think this is, like, the most important part of a nursery in building it. You spend a lot of time in this chair as a mother, whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, reading books to them, doing an evening routine. So it needs to be comfortable,” he explained.
Instead of making a recliner, Brittany said she chose the ottoman so that she and Patrick would be comfortable using the chair.
“I made the ottoman because Patrick is a lot taller than I am so we can adjust this for our legs depending on who is sitting in it,” she said.
As the mother-of-three continued, she also showed off one of the bookshelves in the nursery, revealing one of the “really cool” detail changes they made.
“We changed the knobs for gold bows. For a little girl, bows are so cute and then obviously it goes with her name,” noted Brittany.
In addition to the gold elements, Brittany said Crate and Children that she was inspired by her middle name Raye, adding “sun-inspired elements” throughout as well.
“The most perfect space for our perfect baby girl,” she wrote on Instagram. “I couldn’t be happier with how they brought my vision to life. We will spend so much time in this cozy space.”
Brittany and Patrick Golden welcomed Raye on Sunday, January 12. Golden joins her two older siblings, 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.
