The valley star Brittany Cartwright Giving fans on her son, Cruz, an update following the news that he was diagnosed with a form of autism.
“It wasn’t shocked whenever we got it, but to finally get that – it opens a lot of doors,” Cartwright, 36, said only Weekly US of the diagnosis of her 3 -year -old son, who publicly revealed in Interview with People Published on Wednesday, April 9.
“He has been OT (occupational therapy), in speech and has a therapeutic companion that goes to class with him every day,” he continued. “He has everything he needs.”
Cartwright said Us She decided to publicly share her son’s diagnosis to “use my platform for something good,” adding that he gives her the opportunity to “help other families who go through something like this who may not know where to start.”
(One in 36 children are estimated to identify with autism spectrum disorder, according to the control centers and disease prevention Developmental Disability Monitoring Network.)
“It’s new to me too,” he explained, adding that his son is “just as perfect.”

Phillip Faraone/Getty images“We won’t change some about it,” he continued. “He is the most amazing, special boy. He is at the moment at the moment, but he still (says) things like ‘Mum’ all the time. He was saying ‘Mum’ today … he’s so perfect.”
Cartwright shares Cruz with her disengaged husband, Jax Taylor. The first pair met in 2015, proceeding to tie the knot in 2019 before calling it quitting and filing for divorce in 2024.
While Cartwright says she intends to use her “platform to be an advocate and spread awareness” about autism, there is no fear of admitting that she is simply “learning as we go.”
“The world doesn’t know,” he told Us of being on the autism spectrum or raising a child diagnosed with autism. “There are so many people (who) think they are doctors in the comment section (s) … who think they know everything that happens. I’m like: ‘No, you don’t. Because even I don’t know.'”
He continued, “We learn as we go. And if we can help other families, that is a dream fulfilling.”
Cartwright said Us She doesn’t have “any other friends, who have children with autism,” so as parents they don’t “go through what I’m going through.” Still, she says, once she publicly shared the diagnosis of her son, that she had received “so much support.”
“I’ve had other people reaching out to me (who) advocates, like,” he explained. “(People who have) fought for their children for a long time. And they are, ‘Thanks for sharing this.’ And it means a lot to me.
Cartwright was revealed to Us She hopes to “help with different things,” including various charities dedicated to supporting children with autism and spreading awareness, as she and Cruz move on.
“I want to help other people as much as I can,” he added. “I feel grateful that I can do many of the things I can for my son. I know it’s not easy for everyone, and if I can, like, help in any way – that’s really, really, very important to me.”
She is also hopeful for the future and the next chapter of her life with her son by her side.
“I get back back; my confidence back,” he told Us. “I come back to myself and that’s really important to me. I’m excited to be on this journey with my son and help other families.”
He continued, “I’m very grateful for many things and I’m excited about my future, because it will go so different than I thought it would be 10 years ago when I first moved to LA”
