British tourist is charged with spat photos of Namibia’s children

A British citizen was arrested in Namibia, allegedly for sexually nonsense and photographed their nude.

Douglas Robert Brooke is also accused of touching the children at a holiday in the Central Namibia.

Police said the suspect was aimed at young boys and girls from the San -San’s indigenous community in the Atheousup Central Region.

The 65-year-old British faces 38 charges, including rape, obscene attack and operation, Namibia’s local media reported.

Last week, the British national, who arrived in Namibia for the holiday, has not yet answered the allegations.

He was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly attracted 34 young children and money to make their photos while they were naked.

Morin Moger, the regional police chief, told the state media that tourists were sexually abused by 16 teenage girls and 14 boys.

Some of the naked photos were reportedly found on the British camera, which was confiscated by police after arrest.

On Tuesday, he appeared in the Magistrate Court of Grootfonontein, north of the capital, Windhuk, on Tuesday, where he was denied the gland and supported, Namibia Press reports.

The case was postponed the next month after the state prosecutor asked for more time for the investigation.

“The tourist remains in custody,” said Information Minister Emo Thefel.

The UK Embassy in Namibia stated that “there is no information except that it was reported in the media.”

In a statement by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Namibia stated that the actions of “deeply disrespectful to the cultural heritage of the San community”.

“It is unacceptable for any visitor, foreign or local, exploitation or objectification of indigenous communities or their children for any purpose, including photography,” the statement said in the information newspaper information.
