Federal Judge sentenced former police officer Louisville Brett Hankison to 33 months in prison for violating Brenna Taylor’s civil rights, who was killed in 2020 by law enforcement agencies during the drug Narva.
49 -year -old Hankison was convicted last year for violating Taylor’s civil rights, which could lead to maximum life sentence in prison. US District Court Judge Rebecue Goods Jennings, appointed President Donald Trump, sentenced Monday afternoon.
Last week, the US Department of Justice asked the federal judge to take him only one day of imprisonment and three years of conviction, noting in the court that he “did not shoot Mrs. Taylor and was not responsible for her death.”
“It is impossible that after finally securing the conviction, the Ministry of Justice will look for the sentence so sharply below the federal governing Taylor’s family, said in a statement.
