Brett Hankison has been convicted of violating Benna Taylor’s civil rights

“This creates a dangerous precedent. If a police officer is found guilty of violating someone’s constitutional rights, there must be real responsibility and justice,” the statement said.

In 2023, a separate jury was on federal accusations against Hankison, and he was justified on state charges in the 2022 benchyne threat.
