Without repeating that famous William Goldman Adage for the nineteenth turn, mercy is basically no one in Hollywood, knows what is going to work. That is the case for actors as much as studio operators, as seen in the fact Will Smith refused the two “The Matrix” and “Inception” – the latter because he “had it.” In the meantime there are plenty of iconic horror roles actors regret turning downand I would imagine several of the actors who said “No” by the “Harry Potter” franchise He probably felt a hint of repentance.
Perhaps not as deadly as Smith rejects two of the biggest sci-fi obstacles ever, but almost so frustrated, Brad Pitt’s decision to choose a particularly common spy operator over what became a modern classic of spyware. Back in 2000, the actor was back Diversity. The outlet at the time reported that Pitt was “heavily wooed by Universal” for the film, with the studio eager to launch a franchise based on the three Robert Ludlum books they had acquired. As Variety noted, a franchise at that point had excluded Pitt, but as we all know, “The Bourne Nogutity” ended two years later with Matt Damon in the lead role.
So, what happened? Well, Pitt seems to have decided to go in a different direction. He adhered to the spy genre but received an offer for a very different film than he spawned one of the most successful spy franchises ever.
When “Bourne Identity” ended in 2002, it was like a replacement for the operating genre, which otherwise seemed flashing. Although “The Matrix” (Sans Will Smith) blown the minds of audiences with its truly original action sequences, the genre icons like James Bond still seemed to be struggling. “Die Another Day” Also in 2002, and there is a reason he is remembered as the worst bond movie ever. But “The Bourne Selfity” fulfilled a visceral, high octanal action that at the same time felt foundation and credible. Soon, everyone in Hollywood followed the same thing, with the industry churning ground restarts to the left and right. Meanwhile, the Bourne saga produced two outstanding sequences in the form of “The Bourne Supremacy” in 2004 and “The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007,” the lead actor Solidization Matt Damon as not only of Hollywood’s greatest action heroes, but as a bankable murderer in general.
In the meantime, Brad Pitt had to watch from the sideline (although he had a bigger role than Damon in the very successful “Ocean’s Eleven” in 2001, which represented Pitt’s most opening weekend at the time and you would not know, you would not know, Bruce Willis regretted rejection). Yet, the man could have done with another hit to follow that, especially one who rewrites the rules of operation. Back Diversity. Still that, if he really wanted to play Jason Bourne, he could have said no to that other film, given how he turned out to compare him to Damon’s spy thriller, he probably should have.
For some SchLocky Glasses carrier, for others a consummate display man, Tony Scott directed some of the most dramatic and gripping action movies ever made. While “true romance” always gets mentioned, Scott’s best movie, and Denzel Washington’s favorite movie John David WashingtonHe is arguably a “fireman,” who saw Denzel in one of his greatest action hero roles before leading the “equalizer” franchise. On the other hand, “Spy Game,” in 2001 may not be remembered as the director’s best moment, but certainly not the worst. In fact, it seemed to define Scott more clearly than any of his films, in that the script of Michael Frost Beckner and David Arata were bonkers but somehow Scott made the final product vigilantly – a testament to the fact that that style, rather than a substance resistance, can often be its own kind of substance itself.
The film starred Robert Redford as Nathan Muir, a CIA agent about to retire when he taught his Protégé, Tom Bishop (Brad Pitt), is held captive in China on a charge of spying. Muir has not seen a bishop for some time, having fallen out with his former years earlier. But as memories of their time together become overflow, Muir decides to embark on a mission to release a bishop.
Obviously, Pitt, who had starred in Redford’s era play in 1992 “and River through it,” received a “bishop’s role instead of committing to” Bourne’s identity, “which of course looked crazy in retrospect, but there was no guarantee at the time the Bourne Saga became like Boy, which was struck. is a specific poetry in both of them joining on screen. Still, he had to hurt a little to see how Matt Damon’s franchise pulled away while “Spy Game” received medium reviews (the film is 64% onwards Rotten tomatoes) and make only $ 143 million on a $ 115 million budget. On the other hand, “The Bourne Identity,”, stands at 84% muscular and made $ 214 million on a $ 60 million budget – to say nothing about the franchise he launched. Still, at least Pitt can say that he did not transfer “The Matrix” … Wait, scratch that – he did.
