Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) scored a seventh-round stoppage of a seemingly out-of-form Ebenezer Tetteh (23-2, 20 KOs) on Sunday night at Gibraltar’s Europa Point Sports Complex. The referee stopped the fight after the seventh round because Tetteh, 36, had been severely punished.
Dillian had a big gut and looked like he’d been training at a burger joint. He didn’t look good, working to stop a fighter that Daniel Dubois destroyed in one round in 2019. Tonight’s fight proved that Whyte is a shell of the fighter he once was. There are no words to describe Whyte’s bad looks. It was so horrible to look at.
Painful and slow and wild, Tetteh fought off Whyte in the first, backing up against the ropes and landing some nice shots. For a moment there, it looked like the flabby-looking 261-pound Whyte was in trouble, but he dodged enough of Tetteh’s shots to escape without going down.
After the first round, Tetteh was exhausted and fought in short bursts for the remainder of the contest. In the fourth, Whyte bloodied Tetteh’s nose, which sparked Ghana. He went on the attack and had a decent round. This was the last hold for Tetteh, and he rarely threw punches after the quarter.

In the seventh, Whyte unloaded with a flurry of shots, trying to hit but failing. He fell to the canvas after throwing a wild right hand.
Whyte used plenty of rabbit punches, low kicks and forearms to attack Tetteh throughout the match, but the referee decided not to penalize him. Sometimes it’s pretty ugly with the foul, given that it was a mismatch, and there was no real need for those tactics.
“I needed the rounds. I’ve been out for a while. I was angry and wanted to kill. Anyone who comes from a third world country is trying to turn their life around. He gave me the rounds I needed. I’m happy,” said Dillian Whyte after his victory over officer Ebenezer Tetteh.
“Everybody is fighting everybody. Turki is doing a great job of getting guys to fight each other. I want to fight in March. Inactivity has killed my career. I’d love to be on a season card in Riyadh. People are paying his hard earned money to go out and see me.
It’s hard to imagine Turki Alalshikh including Whyte in any of his Riyadh season cards because he looks very, very old and slow at 36. It would not be good to include it. There are plenty of talented younger heavyweights who deserve to be on the cards for Riyadh’s season more than Whyte.
