In his first fight under his new match contract, the former electrician Padley dropped the CVETANOVIC with a fifth round hand to get the stoppage. Referee Steve Gray stopped the contest after the second loss of the round. The official stop time was at 1:13 of the fifth round.
Although 29 -year -old Cvetanovic passed the count, Gray chose to stop the fight. The Serbian had just hit in each round, showing a zero power and had nothing to offer. Obviously, it was well chosen by Matchroom and was considered harmless to Padley.
In the first loss, Padley advanced, landing left-right-right combinations similar to the piston. It looked like an old locomotive with the way its combos was thrown while loading the CVetanovic in retreat. When Josh caught him against the ropes, he hammer on the canvas with repeated features.
Cvetanovic showed a lot of heart that he got up and chose to continue fighting because he had just eaten 15 hits in this sequence. Of course, Padley cannot break eggs, but with the way he hit him, he had taken enough. When the action resumed, Padley was above, reckless attacking.
Cvetanovic caught Padley with a great right hand that launched himself with everything he had, but he took the shot. Padley continued to unload with the final hut before sending it after connecting with three hard hands on the head. When Cvetanovic got up, referee Steve Gray chose to stop the fight.
Padley left the ninth defeat round at the Light WBC champion, Shakur Stevenson, on February 22 in Riyadh. Promoter Eddie Hearn, who chose Padley about the most dangerous Cuban Southpaw Jadier Herrera to fight Shakur, liked what he saw so much that he signed him on a contract. Most fans were not impressed with Padley.
They were more upset with Shakur, who injured his broken hands and showed little power in the fight against a boy who would not have lasted more than one or two rounds against the light champion Gervonta Davis or Keyshawn Davis.
