Edgar ‘Sugar’ Nunez (28-1, 27 kos) easily defeated Silver’s Silver Super Super Super champion in Japan Masonri Rikiishi (16-2, 11 kos) by a 12-round unanimous decision to capture the IBF 130-LB vacancy championship on Wednesday night at Yokohama Buntai, in Yokohama, Japan.
In the first two rounds, Núñez was the aggressor and won both rounds. In the last seconds of the third round, Rikiishi landed a good combination at Núñez’s chin. In the fourth round, Núñez caught Rikiishi and had him at the end of the round.
From the fifth to the seventh round, Núñez continued out of Rikiishi. In the ninth round, Núñez had Rikiishi against the ropes for most of the round.
At the eleventh round, Núñez had the Rikiishi front with various lumps. In the twelfth and final round, Núñez had his way. When Rikiishi stopped running, he countered well. Although it seemed like misfortune, the judges were generous for the challenger.
The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 115-113. Ricky Gonzalez was the referee.
In the co-cinema, Wbo World Bantam Champ Southpaw Yoshiki Takei (11-0, 9 kos) stopped Yuttongong Tongdee (15-1, 9 kos) at 2:07 in the first round of a 12 round rounds.
In the first lap, after twenty seconds, a left hook of Taki on the chin and down went to Tongdee for an 8 count of referee Chris Young. Again, Takei dropped Tongdee with a left on his chin for another count. When he drove Tongee to the lower ropes for a third with a left, he should have been stopped. The referee left him to continue until Taki had Tongdee defenseless against the ropes.
Tsubasa Narai (16-2, 11 kos) of Super Pheather ravaged Yuna Hara (14-4-2, 8 kos) at 1:55 of the eighth round of a 10 round rounds.
In the first round, there was little action with Narai landing a right on Hara’s chin. In the last seconds of the second round, Narai landed his first solid punch, on the right at Hara’s chin. In the fourth round, Narai struck Hara with a right on his chin in the final minute, making the second round.
In the sixth round, Hara landed a top right throughout the round. In the seventh round, Hara had its best round.
In the eighth round, Narai, in the best action of the struggle, left Hara with a right to count of 8 of the referee Tetsuya Lida. Shortly afterwards, a punch of Narai made the referee Lida leave.
SouthPaw Ryu Isogane (6-1-1, 5 kos) ravaged Tomoya Yamamoto (9-4, 1 kos) at 1:00 in the sixth round of an eight-round rounds.
In the sixth round, Isogane had Yamamoto at his feet when the referee Koji Tanaka called a stop.
Super Flyweight Ryuto Yamada (4-4-2, 2 kos) eliminated Suriya Kraimanee (5-5-2, 3 kos) at 1:10 in the first round of about six rounds planned.
In the first round, Yamada, after a minute, landed a right on Kraimanee’s chin, and went to find the count of referee Shuhei Tereyama.
Kazuma Aratake (1-0, 1 kos) stopped Kitidech Hirunsuk (16-8, 10 kos) at 2:18 in the second round of six rounds planned.
In the second round, Aratake hurt Hirusuk, forcing referee Katsuhiko Hirunsukn to stop.
