In a subsequent slide, Robyn asked her social media followers to “read” the Times attention She also tagged Blake’s account, drawing a rainbow heart around it.
News broke several hours before Blake, 37, accused Baldoni, 40, of causing her “severe emotional distress”. on the set of It Ends With Us. (Baldoni and Lively co-starred in adaptation Colleen Hoover’a popular novel, which he also directed, about the abusive relationship between their characters.)
Blake further alleged that Baldoni fostered a “hostile work environment” and launch a “social manipulation” campaign. to dry up and destroy the reputation of the actress.
Baldoni categorically denied the allegations in a statement provided to him Us Weekly by his lawyer, Bryan Freedman. According to Freedman, the allegations are “absolutely false, outrageous and deliberately salacious” and it was claimed that the court motion was filed to “repair her negative name” and “remake a narrative” regarding the film’s production .
Freedman also claimed that Blake made “multiple demands and threats” during filming It Ends With Usincluding “threatening not to show up to set, threatening not to promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.”
Blake, who also served as an executive producer, subsequently issued a response to Freedman’s claims.
“I hope my legal action will help pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about wrongdoing and help protect others who may be targeted,” he said in a statement today Saturday, denying Freedman’s accusations.
Before It Ends With Us premiered in theaters earlier this year, there were widespread rumours of a feud between Blake and Baldoni but neither of them publicly addressed the speculation.
“There were two camps on the film – Blake’s team and Justin’s team,” source is reported only Us at the time. “It was this creative struggle that set the tone for the negative experience behind the scenes and it grew into the fact that they were no longer talking.”
According to the insider, Baldoni “felt that his vision was not as important as Blake’s,” which apparently “stifled the creativity on set.”
Costar Brandon Sklenar was one of the few It Ends With Us actors to address the apparent situation.
“Disparaging the women who put so much of their heart and soul into making this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counter-productive and detracts from what this film is about talking about it,” he wrote via Instagram in August. “It is, in fact, the opposite of the point. What might have happened behind the scenes is not and it is hoped that it should not detract from our intentions in making this film. It’s been disheartening to see how much negativity is being projected online.”
Sklenar, 34, continued, “Ultimately it’s meant to spread love and awareness. It’s not meant to make the girls the ‘bad guy’ again, let’s move beyond that together. All I ask is, before you spread hate on the internet, ask yourself who is helping. Ask yourself if your opinion is based on any fact. Or if you want to be part of something. Let’s be part of something better together. Part of a new story being written for women and everyone everywhere.”
