Billy JoelWife, Alexis Roderick JoelSpeaking out in the midst of her husband’s recent brain disorder diagnosis.
“Thanks for deporting love and support,” Alexis, 43, wrote through her husband Official Instagram account On Monday, May 26.
The singer “Piano Man”, 76, announced through Instagram on Friday, May 23, that he cancel “all the concerts scheduled” After it is diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).
NPH is a “brain disorder where excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in brain ventricles, which are fluid -filled chambers,” according to the Alzheimer’s Society. “As brain ventricles expand with the excess CSF, they can disrupt and damage nearby brain tissue, leading to difficulty walking, problems with thought and reasoning, and losing bladder control.”
Billy’s team through Instagram explained that NPH caused “problems with hearing, vision and balance,” which affected other recent live performances. His doctors have now recommended that Billy should stop performing as he has “specific physical therapy.” (Joel last performed at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut in February.)
In the same statement on Monday, Alexis, who married the iconic singer in 2015 after six years of dating, wrote that the family was “hopeful” for Billy’s general health recovery and result. (The pair share two children, della rose and remy Anne girls.)
“We are hopeful for his recovery,” he wrote. “We look forward to seeing you all in the future.”
Due to his diagnosis, many famous friends and close family members, including his ex-wife Christie Brinkley and their daughter Alexa Rayoffered their love and support to the famous performer.
“Dear Billy, the whole Brinkley gang sends you a lot of love and good wishes for a full and speedy recovery,” Brinkley, 71, wrote in Instagram post shared on Saturday, May 24. Arena of strangers into a living room full of friends as we all rocked in unison.
He continued, “I’m sure I’m talking for everyone in that room when I say, take good care of yourself, we all want you back in that white hot comment, you are our piano man. And we are always in the mood for your tunes and we all hope you feel right!”
