Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) director Mo Bobat revealed the team’s strategy for not offering Mohammed Siraj during the IPL 2025 mega auction. The director also stated that Siraj’s conservation would be complicated by RCB’s plans to sign Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and the decision was made after taking into account.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a daring call ahead of IPL 2025, letting go to various major names. They had three rights to combine cards, but they used only one. The team returned to Swapnil Singh, but decided not to sign experienced stars like Mohammed Siraj, FAF du Pessis and Glenn Maxwell.
Siraj played in the franchise for seven seasons. It is his third highest time with 83 scalpies in 87 games. The RCB did not make a single offer for him during the mega auction and did not exercise the RTM option. Gujarat titans won Siraj for a heavy crore of $ 12.50.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Mo Bobat said that release Mohammed Siraj was a strategic movement to sign Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He added that Siraj’s conservation could have hindered the team’s plans to take to Bhuvi.
“We wanted to try Bhuvi and we felt like hanging in Siraj, it would make it difficult for Bhuvi,” Mo Bobat told Cricbuzz.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the fourth highest wick in India in T20is. He has taken 90 doctors in 87 games with an average of 23.10 and a strike rate of 6.96, including two five -wicket transport and three four -wicket transcelers. However, India has not represented T20is since November 2022.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was essential in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2025 campaign. The Pealer of his right arm took 17 doctors in 14 games, including the best figures of 3/33. Kumar played a key role in the final against Kings Punjab dismissing Nehal Wadhera and Marcus Stoinis by 2/38.
Bhuvneshwar showed his coherence and longevity in his IPL race. He has taken 198 doctors in 190 games with an average of 27.33 with an economy rate of 7.69. The Pealer has taken two five -wicket transcelers and two four -wicket transport.
Kumar is the second highest wick in the history of the IPL, with only Yuzvendra Chahal, which has 221 doctors ahead. It is worth mentioning that Chahal also played in the Bengaluru franchise in the past.
Mohammed Siraj played Gujarat Titans at IPL 2025. He took 16 doctors in 15 games with an average of 32.93 and a 9.24 economy rate.
Siraj last played a T20i game for India during the 2-0 series victory in Sri Lanka in July 2024, where he launched nine from three games, but claimed only one wick.
The Hyderabad -born cricket was part of the victorious Indian T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. Siraj appeared in the first half of the tournament, carrying only one Wicket in three games. Above all, it was not included in the squad for the next Asia Cup 2025.
