After years of summer disappointments, summer 2025 will almost certainly go down as one of the best film summers of the decade. Now that children are going back to school, it’s time to weigh up how good it was.
If a constant theme that made a crop of films this summer was so watchful, it was a dedication to go back to the basics. The best films on simple storytelling focused and told them perfectly.
These were the best golden summer 2025 films.
1. F1 Was the best summer 2025 movie
F1 beautiful in its simplicity. It tells a simple story about a simple character, and makes it perfect, driven by a great soundtrack, without wasting a single movie frame.
It’s stars Brad Pitt As a washed up racing car driver called Sonny Hayes. He is confident, insightful, and right for everything. People mock him, attack him, and blame him for their problems. Sonny Hayes doesn’t care. He knows he’s right, so he smiles and still does. It works. He wins. That’s the movie.
2. The naked gun Is the funniest film of the decade
The naked gun is the first major budget comedy released for Daddy’s home 2 In 2017. Laughter is back in a big way, and seeing this franchise revival in a large theater with an audience looking worth any cost.
Here’s my favorite piece: Frank reads a criminal rap sheet and says, “He says here you’re doing 25 years for laughing a man.” Liam Neeson’s dramatic pause here. “It must have been one hell of joke.”
The naked gun is one hell of joke. This is the funniest film of the decade.
3. Superman Was the best summer adventure
At its core, Superman is a back -to -a -chance method of telling the stories of superheroes. He’s been dressed up with some of the Director James Gunn Guardians of the galaxy Idiosyncratic style, but a core pulled down drives.
Mind F1,, Superman is the story of a hero who knows he is right and refuses to listen when everyone tells him he is wrong. Ultimately, his ungodliness pays off. Superman saves innocent lives, and his love respects him for sticking to his convictions.
Along the way, some things need to be punched; There is a black hole and a flying dog. That’s a lot of fun. But the core of the film, and what made her feel refreshing after years of swollen storytelling had gone crazy, was that simple, practical way of standing for what is right.
4. The Chuck life Was the best little summer movie
Everything released in the summer is not a big, noisy obstacle, and this film, based on Stephen King’s story, was Summer 2025’s best quieter record.
Chuck life was directed by Mike Flanagan, the mind behind the Netflix Limited Series Midnight Mass. No one was watching Midnight MassBut this is the best thing Netflix has ever produced.
Chuck life Tells three related stories. In one, the world seems to run down slowly, and no one is sure why. In another, a man dances. In the third, there is a mysterious room.
I probably said too much already. The less you know when entering, the better. Just make it a point to watch Chuck life with someone you won’t mind crying.
5. The bad guys 2 Was the best children’s summer 2025 movie
Bad guys 2 better than the first Bam Guys in almost every road. It is a wild animated adventure with its own sense of style and non -stop style and momentum, Set to one of the best offer photo audio tracks of the year.
Each film frame is full of something exciting and fun. He never stops moving and creating. None of the time of the audience is wasted.
I am not suggesting here that this is the kind of film that adults should look for, without children. You would need someone under the age of 12 with you to enjoy what The bad guys 2 to offer. But if you saw it, regardless of your age, you had to enjoy this cartoon tour with Turbo thrill.
6. The Four Fantastic: First Steps Is the best marvel film of the year
Fantastic Four: First Steps made by WondersBut it’s not a Marvel movie. It is a Fantastic Four Film, and the difference that seems small is the most important thing about it. Fantastic Four is a fresh aspect of superhero movies, free from the usual Marvel formula.
One of the film’s most pleasant surprises was how good the decision to Exchange the gender of the silver surfer Yes. He produced controversy, but was a change made for the reasons of a clever story, not political.
Like the other great summer barriers on this list, First steps Made astute narrative decisions, common sense and simple storytelling as well as it could be told. The result was a fun, interesting lacking superhero film left uncomplicated.
What’s missing from this list
I screened almost every movie released this summer, from Mission: Impossible – the last account to Get to The Phoenician plan. Some, as F1 and The naked gunI saw twice. In a shocking turn, almost every film released this summer, except the same with dinosaurs in it, was good.
The only 2025 summer movie I lost that could have been a competitor for the best position of the best WeaponA horror film released at the end of the summer. The majority appears to agree that it is great, including Drewsch GFR itself. It almost certainly belongs on this list as the best summer horror movie 2025. I hope to see it soon.
