The Chicago Bears have landed perhaps the hottest head coaching candidate for their vacancy as Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is reportedly headed to an NFC North rival.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the hiring, noting that the Las Vegas Raiders were also on Johnson’s tail.
Johnson, who led a Lions offense that averaged 33.2 points per game and led the NFL in scoring last regular season, saw its historic season come to an abrupt end in the team’s divisional round loss at home to the Washington Commanders last weekend.
