A great controversy came ahead of the fifth test between India and England in the Oval, which began on Thursday, July 31. “When we were looking at the pitch, we were asked to put ourselves 2.5 meters away. We brought Joggers. It was very strange. Looking at the rubber spike, nothing bad. We see that the terrain is not damaged. It is a pitch, not old,” Kotak told journalists.

“The commissioner called the assistance staff when they got the ice box. Gambhir opposed it. The way Irked Gambhir spoke. Everyone knows that the oval curator is not the easiest person to treat,” he added.

The photo of Brendon McCullum 2023 with Lee Fortis becomes viral after the Gautam Gambhir incident

Following the incident, Brendon McCullum, the main coach of 2023, chatted with Lee Fortis during the ashes. McCullum was standing on the surface of the pitch, taking advantage of the recent clash between Gautam Gambhir and Fortis before the fifth test.

This incident is the most recent of a series full of tensions. Previously in the series at Lord’s, Shubman Gill openly showed his frustration when the openers of England Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett took almost 90 seconds to leave his second post.

In Manchester, England proposed to end the game as a draw seemed inevitable. However, Ravindra Jadja and Washington Sundar, both of which were approaching centuries, refused to shake hands. His decision led to an overcame exchange with Ben Stokes and other players from England on the field.

What is the Gambhir Gambhir team test record in the oval?

India has played 15 test games in the Oval since its first appearance in 1936. They have registered only two wins, six losses and seven draws on the site. However, the young squad of Gautam Gambhir will promote the victory of 157 years of India on England in this field in 2021.

They also suffered a defeat in Australia in the final of the World Championship of 2023. India has to win the fifth and final test to draw the series. Shubman Gill and his team go to the oval oval clash, after having achieved a hard tie in the fourth test.

With series losses against New Zealand and Australia under Gambhir’s leadership, the main coach will be eager to avoid another defeat of the series.
