The IPL had adopted the CPI’s saliva ban during Covid-19 pandemic, but the BCCI is now planning to reverse the decision. According to a PTI report, BCCI’s maximum official stated that the IPL does not fall under the jurisdiction of the CPI and that the banning of the ban would be no problem.

The official said that the saliva has a greater impact on the red ball cricket, but he believes that it could still help the T20 bowls. The proposal has been discussed internally and the captains of all IPL teams will give their contribution during a meeting in Mumbai on March 20.

“Use saliva on the ball was part of the essence of the game until Covid Hit. Now that we no longer have this threat, we believe that there is no harm in lifting a ban on saliva in the IPL,” said BCCI’s maximum official in an interview.
