The BCCI has been implemented in the middle of the season of the Premier League of the Premier 2025 (IPL 2025) in progress. According to Cricbuzz, it has been decided that each batter’s bat will be reviewed with a caliber before starting their tickets at the IPL 2025 ongoing during a recent weekly meeting of scope review.
For the openers, the fourth broadcast will test the bats just before leaving on the field. For the rest, the fields will make the check as they enter during the games.
Previously, this test was performed inside the dressing room before the game by the fourth referee, but things have changed half a season due to a sudden increase in players who use bats who do not comply with the rules.

Bats size controversy has IPL 2025 as BCCI introduces new rules
There were also increasing concerns between the IPL teams that some opposing players used bats larger than the allowed size, especially the thicker in the middle of the leaf.

This forced the BCCI and the party officers to introduce the caliber test in the field in the middle of the IPL 2025 in progress. Two days after this new rule came into action, the IPL 2025 clash between the kings of Punjab and the Kolkata Knight Riders in Mullanpur saw several bats died.
Surprisingly, the bats used by the Kolkata Knight Riders Sunil Narine workshop and the fast diaper Anrich North failed the caliber test.
According to current rules, a cricket bat must follow certain size limits:
- The leaf cannot be wider than 4.25 inches and no deeper of 2.64 inches, and the edges cannot be thicker than 1.56 inches.
- The bat must also fit without problems through a special measurement tool called batibre of bat.
These are the additional rules established:
- For bats larger than size 6, the handle cannot exceed 52% of the total battery length.
- Any material that covers the leaf should not be thicker than 0.1 cm.
- The protective material at the foot of the bat cannot be more than 0.3 cm thick.
All teams have been told the new rule where the areas will now check the sizes of bat before a blender goes in to beat in the current season. Until now, no team has proposed any objection to this change.

BCCI asks Umpires to make it easy for player celebrations to IPL 2025
