On Friday, May 9, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) officially announced the suspension of the 2025 Premier League League (IPL) for a period of one week.
This development comes one day after the Indian 2025 Premier League party between Kings Punjab and Delhi’s capitals was called to Midway at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala due to tensions on the border.

In an official statement, the BCCI stated that the decision to suspend competition was made after due consultation with all interested parties. BCCI also emphasized the “unjustified aggression” by Pakistan’s armed forces after the Sindoor operation in his statement.
“ The rest of the #Tapal 2025 in progress was suspended with an immediate effect for a week.The decision was made by the IPL governing body after due consultation with all the key interest groups after the representations of most franchisees, who transmitted the concern and feelings of their players, as well as the opinions of the successful bidder, sponsors and amateurs.
“While the BCCI receives a full faith in the strength and preparation of our armed forces, the Council considered it cautious to act in the collective interest of all interested parties,” read the BCCI statement.
