BCCI issued an official statement on allegations of “unfair advantage” against India at CT 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Vice President Rajeev Shukla, opened on whether India had an unfair advantage by playing all its ICC Champions 2025 games in Dubai. Rajeev Shukla stated that the Indian team is based on skills instead of external factors such as passage conditions.

The former players wondered if India has an unfair advantage by playing all its games in Dubai. India is playing games in a place, unlike other teams traveling between three places in Pakistan and Dubai. India refused to travel to Pakistan due to political tensions, leading to a hybrid model.

Team India faced New Zealand at the Champions Trophy 2025 Final

The critic increased when both Australia and South -Africa had to travel to Dubai ahead of the semifinals. India reached its semifinals after defeating New Zealand in the final group game. South -Africa and New Zealand had to travel to Pakistan to play the second semifinal match.

The team led by Rohit Sharma beat Australia by four doctors to reach their third consecutive final of the Champions Trophy. In the meantime, the Kiwis defeated the Proteas for 50 runs in Lahore on Wednesday, March 5. With this victory, New Zealand also reserved a place in its third final of the Trophy of Champions.

India is based on her skills, not on the basis of the pitch: BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla

Rajeev Shukla dismissed the concern for India to get an advantage by playing all its games in Dubai, saying that the team is based on performance, not on tone conditions. Speaking to journalists, Shukla said it was agreed that the parties focused on India will be held in Dubai during the CPI meeting.

“When this decision was made during the CPI meeting, it was decided that the parties focused on India will be played in Dubai while the remaining matches will be played in Dubai,” said Shukla while talking to the Lahore Stadium Gaddafi Stadium media.

“So this is not fair or unfair and the Indian Cricket team does not play depending on the launches. There are also different types of launches in Dubai Ground. India plays the performance, players play on their skills not from the pitch,” he added.

The decision is in the hands of the Government: Rajeev Shukla

Rajeev Shukla also shared his thoughts on the possibility that India and Pakistan resume bilateral cricket in a neutral enclosure, adding that the decision is in the hands of the Indian government. Shukla added that bilateral series should take place in India or Pakistan and not neutral places.

“With regard to the bilateral relationships of Cricket between India and Pakistan, the decision is in the hands of the government. Everything that the Indian government tells us, we will go through it,” said Shukla.

“In addition, it is the BCCI policy and I suppose it would be the same for the PCB, so the bilateral games must take place on the floor of any of the two nations. It should not take place in a neutral place, it is a consistent policy of the BCCI,” he added.
