The Irish President has mentioned that they have not played enough cricket at home this season and, therefore, hope to make some notable inclusions in their international calendar for the coming seasons of the international cricket.
“We have pointed out our opinions and thoughts on how the calendar of ’26 and ’27, and wanted to obtain its contribution not only in the international calendar, but also in the domestic calendar … It was a really positive session yesterday. There is more work to do, sincerely, but it was a good session.”
According to the ICC Future Tours program, Ireland is due to host nations such as the New Zealand Cricket team for a single test, Bangladesh for three hatred and three T20is, and Afghanistan for a long series that will include a test, three hatred and three T20is.
“There are still a couple of variables that must be discovered before blocking the final program, but we will welcome the test cricket here next year,” said Macneice.
The President of the Irish Board of Cricket, Brian Macneice, has confirmed that he would be “very supportive” of a proposal for a World ICC test championship of two divisions that would also lead to Ireland in some red ball parts.
The CPI has proposed a form of two divisions from the World CPI Test Championship, which will classify the other teams by the top ten places in the world. The two -level system, however, has not been accepted by big cricket boards.
