The 34th match of the Big Bash League (BBL)|14 between Hobart Hurricanes i Melbourne Renegades at the Oval de Bellerive it was a tense encounter, with both teams fighting to the last.

Chasing 155 for victory, the Hurricanes cruised to a dramatic four-wicket win in a final thriller, thanks to explosive contributions from Tim David and a shocking bowling spell Riley Meredith.

However, the Renegades middle order could not build on their strong foundation, and they struggled to pick up the pace in the latter stages of the innings. His invaluable contribution under pressure sealed victory for Hobart and confirmed their place in the 2024-25 BBL playoffs.

Despite the defeat, Bethell was named the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance throughout. His innings of 87 runs helped the Renegades post a challenging total, and his two wickets were vital in keeping the Hurricanes’ chase in check. However, it was the Hurricanes’ timely execution with bat and ball that ultimately made the difference in this thrilling contest.
