Julia Ramadan was horrified – the war between Israel and the “Hizbolo” was exacerbated, and she had a nightmare that her family was bombing. When she sent her brother a panic voice note from her apartment in Beirut, he urged her to join him in Ain El Delb, a sleepy village in southern Lebanon.

“It’s safe here,” he reassured her. “Come to us until everything is resting.”

Earlier in the same month, Israel strengthened air fighting against Hizbala in Lebanon in response to the escalation of rocket attacks by armed groups supported by Iran, which killed civilians and were supplanted by tens of thousands of people from houses in the north of Israel.

Ashraf was convinced that their family’s apartment would become a shelter, so Julia joined him. But the next day, September 29, he underwent the most deadly Israeli attack in this conflict. Under the blow of Israeli missiles, the entire six -storey building collapsed and 73 were killed.

The Israeli Defense Army (Tsakhal) states that the building became a target because it was the “Center for the Hizbala terrorist command” and it “eliminated” commander Hizbala. It adds that the “vast majority” killed as a result of “confirmed as terrorists”.

But the investigation of the BBC Eye confirmed the persons 68 of the 73 people killed as a result of the attack, and revealed evidence that only six were linked to the military wing. None of those we found had no higher rank. The BBC World Service also found that the remaining 62 were peaceful residents-23 of them children.

Among the dead were infants at the age of only a few months, like a noh cable in the apartment -2b. In the apartment -1C, the teacher Chohllak was killed with her husband and three sons. Three floors were almost killed with three generations of her family – husband, children and two grandchildren.

Ashraf and Julia were always close, shared everything with each other. “She was like a black box that kept all my secrets,” he says.

On the afternoon of September 29, the siblings just returned home after giving away food to the families who fled the fighting. Hundreds of thousands of people in Lebanon were moved as a result of the war.

Ashraf was in her soul, and Julia sat in the living room with his father and helped him to load the video to social networks. Their mother, Janan, was in the kitchen, cleaned.

Then, without warning, they heard a deafening blow. The whole building shuddered, and a huge cloud of dust and smoke flooded into their apartment.

“I shouted, ‘Julia! Julia! ”Ashraf says.

“She replied, ‘I’m here.’

“I looked at my father, who had difficulty rose from the couch because of the existing leg injury, and saw the mother run to the front door.”

Julia’s nightmare took place in real life.

“There was hyperventilation in Julia, she cried so hard on the couch. I tried to calm her down and told her we needed to go out. Then there was an attack again. “

A video of the impact that was distributed on the Internet and proven BBC shows four Israeli missiles flying through the air to the building. A few seconds the block is destroyed.

Ashraf, along with many others, was under the rubble. He started screaming, but the only voice he heard was the voice of his father, who told him he was still hearing Julia and that she was alive. None of them were heard by Ashraf’s mother.

Ashraf sent a voice message to friends in the neighborhood to warn them. The next few hours were excruciating. He heard the rescuers make the constipation, and the residents cry when they find their loved ones. “I just thought God, not Julia. I can’t live without Julia. “

Ashraf was finally pulled out of the rubble in a few hours, only minor injuries.

He found that his mother was saved but died in the hospital. Julia gasped under the rubble. The father later told him that the last words of Julia were calling his brother.

In November, an agreement on ceasefire was reached between Israel and Hezbollah to cease the conflict. The agreement provides a 60 -day term for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from South Lebanon, and for “Hizbala” – the withdrawal of its forces and weapons north of the Litani River. As this extreme term is approaching January 26, we sought to learn more about Israel’s deadly attack on Lebanon in recent years.

In the apartment below Julia and Ashrafa Havroa and Ali Farez received family members displaced because of the war. Among them was the sister of Havroa Batul, who, like Julia, arrived the day before – with her husband and two young children. They escaped from intense bombing near the Lebanon-Israel border, in areas where Hizbal has a strong presence.

“We hesitated where to go,” Batul says. “And then I said to my husband,” Let’s go to Ain El Delb. My sister said their building is safe and that they did not hear any bombing nearby. “

Batula’s husband Mohammed Farez died as a result of the attack on Ain El Delb. A pillar fell on Batul and her children. He says no one responded to her calls for help. Finally, she managed to lift it alone, but her four -year -old daughter, Havroa, was deadly. Miraculously her little milk remained.

The three floors below Batula lived Denise and Mojaldin al-Baba. On that Sunday, the denise invited her brother Hisham for lunch.

The impact of the impact was tough, says Hisham.

He spent seven hours under the rubble.

Hisham lost four members of his family – sister, brother -in -law and two children. He told us that he lost his faith and no longer believe in God.

To find out more about those who died, we analyzed the data of Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, video recordings, social media reports, and talk with those who survived after the attack.

In particular, we wanted to question the Media Media – immediately after the attack – that the apartment building was the Hezbollata command center. We asked several times in the feast what the team center was, but it did not give explanations.

So, we started viewing information on social networks, burial places, health documents and burial videos to determine whether they were killed during the attack by military affiliation.

We were able to find only evidence that six of the 68 identified dead were linked to the Hizbol military wing.

In the memorial photos of Hizbala for six men used the Mujahidee shortcut, which means “fighter”. The elders, on the contrary, are called “Caid”, which means “commander” – and we did not find such labels used by the group to describe the dead.

We asked the swim whether there were six hezboli militants we identified, allegedly striking. This question was not answered.

One of the fighters of Hizbala, whom we identified, was Batul Mohammed Farez. Batul told us that her husband, like many other men in Southern Lebanon, was a group reservist, although she added that he had never received money from “hezbol”, had no official title and did not participate in the battles.

Israel considers Hezbollah one of its main threats, and Israel, many Western governments and Arab Gulf countries have recognized a group of a terrorist organization.

But next to its large, well -armed military wing, Hizbala is also an influential political party that occupies places in the Lebanese Parliament. In many parts of the country, it is woven into social fabric, providing a network of social services.

The village still suffers from its impact. When we visited, more than a month after the strike, his father continued to visit the site every day, hoping for the news of his 11-year-old son whose body has not yet been found.
