Barney Stinson’s details of how I met your mother who makes no sense

“How did I meet your mother,” who ran for nine seasonsFocus on a central group of five best and loving friends in New York City. But – with the most due respect for Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, and Jason Segel, who played Ted Moschy, Robin Scherbatsky, Lily Aldrin, and Marshall Eriksen, respectively – Barney Stinson may be the most memorable series. Played with wit and charm by Neil Patrick Harris, Barney is Lothario that uses increased tactics deranged and outlandish to get women into his bed, and while some of the jokes about her woman’s ways don’t always Keep up (he makes a joke for a woman’s trading for a car at one time, which has some very serious implications), much of it is still quite funny.

Harris Barney from the first episode of the show, broadcast in 2005, played all the way through the end of the series in 2014. Across 208 episodesWe learn a lot about Barney’s history, the fact that he really has a very big heart, and his quirks and idiosyncrasies. (In Harris’s Installment of Vogue’s “73 questions“Series in 2016, he correctly states that he gave Barney a particularly funny feature: he can’t use chopsticks. If you watch carefully whenever there’s a pair of chopsticks on the screen, he can’t really do it.) Yet, one of Barney’s funny features involving driving creates a huge plot hole on driving – how I said to be a mother.” usually a bunch of other Times during the show?

Despite being afraid of driving, Barney certainly drives a lot on how I met your mother

In the 17th episode of “How I Met Your Mother” Season 2, called “Werderci, Fiero,” the gang comes together to mourn the loss of Pontiac Fiero dear Marshall, who finally dies … and at that time Ted re -locates everyone with the story of the time he tried to learn Barney to drive using the Fiero. Although he and Ted never even leave the car park where he teaches Barney how to operate the vehicle – and they never surpass only 10 miles an hour, or even come close – the whole thing scare Barney to the point where he develops a lifelong inversion to the fiero and even hatred for them.

This is definitely funny in the episode, but it also makes no sense, because Barney drives elsewhere in the series without any problem at all. In fact, in the chapter that immediately follows “an eagle, fiero,” called “Moving Day,” Barney steals Ted’s mobile truck to prevent him from moving in with Robin, and he does so By driving it! In the fourth of the show’s season, Barney tells Ted to drive to the airport to pick up Ted’s mother (there is frequent insults that there is something, uh, Happen Between Barney and Virginia Moschy, played by Cristine Rose). And in the season 5 finale, “Doppelgangers,” the gang sees a cab driver who looks just like Barney as they try to find their spouse Doppelgangers in Manhattan. Turns out, he is Barney, and sometimes drives a cab in a disguise to meet women.

The fact that any of these New York meander Drive is wild enough, but the inconsistencies in Barney’s history as a driver are quite obvious.

Plotting holes aside, Barney was a great character – until I ended a series how I met your mother to spoil it

Look, I find that some details slip through the cracks on a long -lasting seating comedy, even if it is quite vigorous that Barney is afraid to drive in one chapter and literally steal a moving spot one chapter later. Still, it happens! The worse thing he did “how I met your mother” to Barney’s character, though, is to make him a completely different person during end of the series, “last forever.”

People complain about “Last Forever” because he kills the mother title (Cristin Milioti) in a montage so that Ted can end with his ex -girlfriend Robin after all has been said and done, but they look over the fact that Barney’s character is murdered beyond repair during the two -part chapter. First of all, the Entire last season From the “How I Met Your Mother” centers around Barney and Robin’s wedding in the town of Farhampton fiction, only for the end of the series to be divided into quite diseremonic during the first fifteen minutes of its running time, shaving Barney from the start. Then Barney discovers that one of his paramours is pregnant (we don’t learn this mother’s name) and when he becomes a little girl’s father, he starts running around New York and tells women to wear more clothes. It’s a strange and totally out of pocket turn for Barney, which, we come to learn, really force Robin’s girlfriend and he wouldn’t start to shame women for their uniform whether he had a daughter or not.

Obviously the way the end of the series treats Barney is absolutely smelling, but that driving thing also Very fishy. If you want to track this plot hole for yourself, “How I Met Your Mother” is streaming on Hulu now.
