Bangladesh established test series vs Zimbabwe; Complete program announced

The Bangladesh team will resume international cricket in April with a two -game tests against Zimbabwe’s national team. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially confirmed the next series of red balls against Zimbabwe, which will take place after EID.

The teams in the next series are not yet to be announced. Above all, this series will not be part of the World Test Championship cycle (WTC).

On Saturday, a Bangladesh Cricket Council official revealed to Cricbuzz that Dhaka was not considered for the series against Zimbabwe.

The decision was made because the Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS) of Dhaka is currently hosting the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) parties, the first tournament in the country.

“We are regularly having DPL to SBNS games and, therefore, we decided to reproduce the series of tests in Chattogram and Sylhet because you get there doctors who have rested enough while it would not have been the case in Dhaka,” said the official.

Dhaka’s National Sher-E-Bangla National Stadium has been a key place for test matches in Bangladesh. However, the last time he did not host a test was in March 2024, when Sri Lanka traveled Bangladesh for a series of two -game tests. Both games played Sylhet and Chattogram.

Bangladesh got his first test victory against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh won his first test victory, defeating Zimbabwe for 226 runs on Chitland on January 10, 2005. This historic victory reached its 35th test game, more than four years after winning the test status in 2000.

The first test of the series was played at Chittagonga Aziz Stadium, where Bangladesh published 488 runs in the first entrances, with key contributions by Habibul Bashar (94), Rajin Saleh (89) and Mohammad Rafique (69).
