The franchise could designate experienced names such as Kl Rahul or FAF du Pessis, while younger options like Tristan Stubbs can be considered as part of their long -term planning.
For now, neither the franchise nor the Axta have published an official statement, leaving the situation of captaincy open to the speculation.
Axar was recently retired from the Vice-Caps to India T20I for the next Asia Cup 2025, from September 9. Suryakumar Yadav will run the team, while Shubman Gill has been named Vice-Capitan.
Gill, who recently took over the test and is already a hate deputy, is now part of the leadership group in all formats. The batter on his right hand had an impressive series of tests in England, where he scored 754 runs with four centuries and guided India to a 2-2 draw.
In the meantime, Axar, who acted as vice-chic in the T20i England series earlier this year, will return as a key key. It was essential in the triumph of the T20 World Cup of India 2024 and will have a similar impact on the Asia Cup.
Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, closely missed the qualification of the Playoffs IPL 2025. Axar Patel contributed with Bat and Ball, scoring 263 runs in 11 tickets to a strike rate of 157.48 and obtained five doctors in 11 games with an economy of 8.47.
The franchise made changes ahead of the mega auction, separating with the former Captain Rishab Pant and appointed Axar Patel as the new leader. The team won its first four games, but struggled to maintain consistency as the season progressed.
Delhi finished in fifth place at the table of 10 teams after the league stage. The team had 15 points out of 14 games, while Mumbai (MI) Indians ranked fourth teams with 16 points.
