Love Island USA star Austin Shepard clears the air after returning home from the Fiji villa.
Austin, 26, answered a series of questions put forward by fans on his Instagram stories on Friday, July 14, including one from a social media user who asked if he was a “racial bigot.”
“I’m going to put this comment just one time because this is, like, crazy,” Austin said in a Friday video. “Are you f *** ing dumb? Like, honestly, are you dumb? Are you not thinking?”
Austin appeared to deny the charges, citing one of her tattoo as a further test.
“I have a black woman tattooed on my side,” he said. “Use your head.”
Austin was one of the Og Islanders on Season 7 of Peacock’s Love Island USA. Was dumped earlier this week alongside competitors Andreina Santos, TJ Palma, Blackmore Gray and Duggar jaden.
Earlier this season, a cast member Yulissa Escober removed it from the villa when there were past racial insensitive positions that he did re -faced on -lein. (Yulissa, 27, has since apologized for his comments.)
“I was not dragged out in the dark. I walked out in a wide -loud daylight, lashes on,” said Yulissa in Video Thursday, July 3, Tiktok. “I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night. They didn’t drag my bin out of bed. I was actually becoming comfortable and just came out of my shell because first I was kind of sleepy and shy. I was upset that I was pulled out that day because I was like, ‘damn, I had just started to have fun.’
According to Yulissa, a producer later asked to speak off camera.
“I was called to the forefront and then met one of the producers and they asked me to take off my bike. I counted something serious was a kind of happen,” he remembered. “I was honestly scared. I thought something had happened with a family member or something. They didn’t really tell me anything. They said a video had re -faced the internet and doesn’t look too good. I didn’t really know what video or what I did or what I did.”
Reporter Iain Stirling went to Yulissa’s departure subtly, and briefly mentioned that she had “left the villa” but did not explain the situation further. Cast members were also not given full details.
“Personally, they never told me anything. They never told us in the villa,” said Jeremiah Brown during a chapter Monday, June 30, “Speedy Mormman” podcast. “They said she left for personal reasons – I can say that. I discovered later after getting my phone back it was because of whatever happened.”
Love Island USA Tunes daily, except Wednesday, on Baun.
