Austin Nichols admits he is “too old” to be kissing Mary-Kate Olsen in Holidays in the sun – and “feel wrong” about it at the time.
In an interview on the podcast “Drama Queens” Released on Tuesday, April 15Nichols said that One tree hill and Holidays in the sun Share an “similar” audience. But when it was time to kiss on the screen his character with Olsen, things felt a little away.
“I was definitely nervous because Mary-Kate was 15, and I, I thought, 18 or 19, or maybe even 20. I don’t remember, but I was too old,” he explained. “And he felt strange, and he felt wrong.”
He continued, “And I looked very young, so while watching the movie, I don’t think you notice. I’m real and thin and nerdy. But I don’t think you can say that there is a big age difference.
The chapter is not the first appearance of Nichols on the podcast. He stopped past In February 2024 and discuss the fact that the show’s production team was employed – at least partly – because it dates One tree hill star Bush SophiaOne of the guests of “Drama Queens.”
“I had been through a breakdown that wasn’t great and decided I hated men and Austin Nichols came around and brought me on my first date since,” Bush said at the time.
“When you came to Wilmington I blown a gasket,” he told Nichols on the podcast episode. “I was like, ‘What’s the F – K happening? I’ve gone out with three people in a decade and one of them is here. What’s going on?'”
He added, “I lost my S *** and I remember that our bosses are similar, ‘Don’t worry, this amazing thing is with him and Peyton and you will never interact on camera,’ is what they told me. Break to our characters married and have children and I was like, ‘I was nuped but I’m not mad at it.’ They played a matchmaker for us in the strangest way, I was like, ‘Is that appropriate for your bosses to do?’ But it was also such a sweet season.
The pair continued to date until the show ended in 2012 and on good terms now. “I remember hearing such things and rumors like that,” said Nichols in response to Bush’s story. “Probably not only on this show, but on others, but on this show it seemed pointed. There was a lot of mining of your life, for better or for the worse.”
