Southern Charm‘s Austen Kroll misses hanging out with his brother Craig Conover.

At Bravo’s sneak peek in Thursday’s episode, January 2, Austen, 37, sits down with her longtime friend to find out why things seem distant between the pair.

“I miss my friend and that’s where I come to you,” Austen shares in the preview. “We talk and do this but if I’m going to dinner, you’re not on my phone call list. If I’m going to get a beer, you’re not on my phone call list because your answer is usually ‘because I’m gardening.’”

Clearly surprised by the conversation, Craig, 35, quickly tries to defend himself and questions Austen the last time he picked up the phone to arrange a dinner date.

Southern Charm fans have seen many friendships come and go on the series, but when Austen Kroll joined the cast in season 4, it was hard to lose her immediate connection with Craig Conover. Conover quickly connected with Kroll in 2016 when he began filming with the residents of Charleston, South Carolina. Unlike most of the original (…)

“That’s what you do,” replied Craig. “I’m not a mind reader. I didn’t know this s— was going on. I thought we were good. Why don’t we organize a weekly tee time?”

From Austen’s point of view, this might not be the best time for some sarcasm. After all, Craig didn’t score an invitation to Patricia Altschulbirthday dinner due to his absence from the group.

For example, Austen details a weekend when she was supposed to play golf with Craig on a Sunday. The night before, however, his friend canceled so he could look after his garden.

“Yeah, because I don’t want to waste five hours playing golf when I have things to do,” replied Craig. “It was work. …That’s what makes me happy now is working and making money.”

Austen joined first Southern Charm in 2017 for season 4. Since then, he has maintained a friendship with Craig with the pair opening a new bar called By The Way. At the same time, he wishes his colleague and friend had more “balance.”

“I wish Craig had more balance in his life,” Austen alone say Us Weekly earlier this month. “I wish Craig wanted to go out to lunch with me and (my love) Audrey. Craig is like a hermit.”

While Austen is delighted about Craig’s success in the business world with Sewing Down South, The Spritz Society and more businesses, he hopes he will not be forgotten.

“It’s going to make me look like a kid maybe,” Austen joked while teasing future friendship talks with Craig on Southern Charm. “The message is there.”

Southern Charm airs on Bravo Thursday nights at 8 pm ET. Stream old episodes anytime on Peacock.
