After bowling it out after lunch, Bumrah was seen walking off the field and then leaving the SCG with his training squad, heading for explorations. This exit raised alarms among fans and the team management, given Bumrah’s history of subsequent problems and his critical role in the team’s bowling attack.

Prasidh Krishna gives updates on Bumrah
After the day’s play, Krishna, who had also contributed significantly with the ball, answered questions from the press about Bumrah’s health. Krishna revealed that Bumrah is experiencing back spasm. He mentioned that the medical team is closely monitoring the situation and has conducted a scan to assess the extent of the problem. Krishna stressed that the medical team would provide further updates, highlighting the concern surrounding Bumrah’s fitness given his importance to the Indian team.
“Jasprit Bumrah has a spasm in his back. Medical team is monitoring him so let’s see. He had a scan. Medical team will update,” Krishna told the press.
Challenges for India in Bumrah’s absence
Bumrah’s absence from the field was immediately felt as India looked to capitalize on their first bowling success. The team had managed to dismiss Australia for 181 runs, securing a slim lead, but without Bumrah’s pace and accuracy, the Indian attack looked less threatening.
