In a joyful moment during the opening day of the fifth Test match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground, an Indian fan took the opportunity to taunt the Australian opener Constas himself with a poster of Virat Kohli. The playful exchange came amid the memorable shoulder incident that took place during the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Although the fourth test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 Long over, the tensions between Kohli and Konstas from the first day of that match remain fresh in the minds of cricket fans. During the early stages of Australia’s innings in the Melbourne Test, Kohli and Konstas had a heated confrontation. The incident occurred after the 10th over when Kohli, while running past the Australian opener, appeared to rub shoulders with him. This physical contact seemed to annoy Konstas, who did not refrain from expressing his displeasure. A heated exchange of words ensued, with the field umpires quickly stepping in to diffuse the situation and restore order.
Although the Melbourne Test is a thing of the past, the rivalry between Kohli and Konstas has remained a talking point for fans. On Day 1 of the fifth Test in Sydney, the incident was reignited when an Indian fan, who was watching the match from the stands, held up a large poster of Kohli. The poster, emblazoned with the words ‘King Kohli’, was aimed at Konstas, with the clear intention of mocking the Australian opener. The fan’s antics were met with a smile from Konstas, who playfully responded with a thumbs-up gesture, acknowledging the taunts in good humor.
After all, he is the first fanboy.🔥

On the field, India’s batting efforts on Day 1 of the Sydney Test were less than ideal. The visitors were dismissed for a total of 185 runs in their first innings, with the wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh pants emerging as the top scorer with 40 runs. Despite a valiant effort by Pant, India’s batting order struggled to establish partnerships and the Australian bowlers dominated proceedings. Australia, in their reply, found themselves in a challenging position at the end of Day 1. After three overs, they had scored only 9 runs for the loss of 1 cover, behind India by 176 runs.
