At Bernstein questions Keith Thurman’s title against Sebastian Fundora

The veteran commentator at the Bernstein expressed his disappointment by Keith Thurman, who received a world title against the WBC Junior Middleweight champion, Sebastian Fundora, on October 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena de las Vegas.

The veteran commentator’s vision

Bernstein, who has been broadcasting for 45 years since 1980, says that he does not like Thuman, 36, has the opportunity to fight for a title against Fundora after a single struggle in the 154 -pound division against Brock Jarvis earlier this year on March 12.

“One of my peteves is the fighters who jump in a division and are there for a minute or two in a division where there are good fighters,” said Bernstein. “There are a lot of other fighters who could have had this title. I understand that Fundora has struggled a fairly hard board and has made a mandatory defense of the title just before this against (TIM) Tszyu.”

Fundora has repeated hard struggles since 2021 against these fighters:

– Erickson’s Lube
– Brian Mendoza
– Sergio Garcia
– Carlos Ocampo

The only struggle of those six foundra lost was against Mendoza when she was eliminated in the seventh round on April 8, 2023. Sebastian was ahead of 60-54, 59-55 and 60-54 at the time of stoppage.

PBC business justification

“I understand why they would like to take this well -known fighter (Thurman), who is good at promoting fights, such as Keith Thurman and creating this party,” said Bernstein. “In this case, with all the good 154 pounds there, it seems to me as someone else in the top 10 or even the first 12 who could have found their way in this game.

“It can be a great struggle. Maybe in the ring, it will be a fantastic game. If it is, it will entertain the boxing fans. But for me, I would rather see one of those best 154 pounds,” Bernstein.
