The exact importance of American intelligence for Ukraine’s military efforts for obvious reasons has never been registered in detail.
But most analysts agree that it performs two important functions: helping Ukraine to plan offensive operations against Russian forces, as well as to expose Kiev a vital warning about the threats provided by Russian drones and missiles.
Satellite information and signal interceptions give Ukrainian forces on the frontline feeling where Russian forces, their movements and probably intentions are.
Without the US intelligence, Ukraine will not be able to use such efficient use of Western arms, such as US Himars or Stormhadow launchers supplied by Britain and France.
In addition to military applications, the constant flow of information in real -time mode presented by Washington has also provided a military, critical national infrastructure of Ukraine and valuable information about the civilian population.
Air sirens and alerts about Ukraine’s air raids are greater or less informed according to the early warning provided by US companions that can detect aircraft and missiles deep in the Russian territory.
Any prolonged interruption in US intelligence supplies can have a catastrophic impact on Ukraine’s ability to defend themselves, in particular, if Trump administration has already decided to suspend vital military assistance.
A few months ago, Ukraine hoped that deliveries of additional air defense were in particular the US Patriots’ missile defense system -to renew protection to more potential goals, including cities and power plants across the country.
But now Ukraine in patriots is running out. Recent European promises to provide short and medium -level systems will help resist some threats, but not against the most dangerous missile ballistic missiles in Russia.
It is clear that the United States uses military assistance and intelligence as another – a dull diplomatic lever.
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said military assistance to Ukraine could restore if Ukraine agrees to participate in diplomatic efforts under the leadership of the United States.
“I think if we can nail these negotiations and move to these negotiations … Then the president will think to raise this pause,” he said Fox News.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe told Fox Business that the pause will “go away”.
But it is clear what the White House wants from the President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky in return.
