As it was in the room while shouting

This day began with the same heartfelt routine that the White House reserves to visit foreign dignitaries.

President of Ukrainian Olodimir Zelensky welcomed US President Donald Trump in the door of the western wing proudly, and the leaders politely shook his hand.

We were in the oval office as part of the Ukrainian media pool, witnessed friendly formalities and about half an hour of polite conversation.

Zelensky presented Trump championship belt of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandra Usik.

Trump praised Zelensky’s clothes.

So far, diplomatic.

But a few minutes later, what was burning was, to say the least, unprecedented. The brilliant tone turned into windows and chaos. The voices were raised, the eyes curled up, rejected aspirations – and all in front of the world television cameras.

The US president and the vice president stopped the leader of the visit, accusing Zelensky of not grateful for the support that supported Ukraine’s military efforts.

The tension broke out when Vice President J. D. Vens said Zelensky that the war should end through diplomacy.

What diplomacy, Zelensky replied.

Talking about the Ukrainian president, Vnes told the leader of the visit that he was “disrespectful” to come to the oval office and did his job in front of the US media and demand that he thank Trump for his leadership.

The journalists in the room looked with the open lips as followed by unusual exchange.

“You did enough talk. You don’t win it,” Trump said at one point. “You must be grateful. You don’t have cards.”

“I don’t play cards,” Zelensky replied. “I’m very serious, Mr. President. I’m the president in the war.”

“You are gambling with the Third World War,” Trump replied. “And what you do is very disrespectful to the country, this country that has supported you much more than a lot of people said they should have.”

Vens replied, “You said” Thank you “one day all this meeting? No.”

The Ukrainian ambassador to the United States looked with his head in his hands.

The atmosphere completely shifted – and everything is outdoors.

Our American colleagues have noticed that they had never seen anything like that. “Such a scene was just incredible in the White House,” one told me.

When the journalists left the Oval office, many were shocked. In the instruction of the White House, where the exchange was shortened soon, the rest of the media, which were not in the room, watched the disbelief.

There was a confusion. Immediate questions were about whether a press conference would be planned to go ahead or a long-awaited transaction between the US and Ukraine about mineral resources.

A few minutes later, Trump wrote about the truth that Zelensky could “return if he is ready for peace.”

The ceremony of the press conference and signing of the transactions – sent to the eastern hall of the White House – was officially canceled.

Shortly after Zelensky spoke and waiting for the SUV when his ambassador retreated.

They were distracted when the world just started digesting a stunning moment.

Despite the full -scale argument, a mineral deal may still happen sooner or later.

But one thing is for sure: this visit to Zelenski will be remembered by completely different reasons.

The first -hand world saw the negotiations between the US and Ukraine unfold: they are complex, emotional and tense.

It was clear that these were difficult negotiations for both parties.

The gift of the Ukrainian boxer Alexandra Usik certainly did not maintain the situation. And after this combat in the White House, the real question is now what it means for the war in Ukraine – and the own future of Zelensky.
