However, the BCCI finally decided to assign two Playoffs matches to New Chandigar’s new PCCA Stadium. The enclosure will host the first qualifier and the eliminator, while the second qualifier and the final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

“Hyderabad and Kolkata initially should host the last four games before the tournament week suspension. The new Playoffs places were decided by the IPL Governing Council, taking into account the weather conditions and other parameters,” the BCCI said in a media statement.

According to reports, Harbhajan Singh played a decisive role in the new PCA Stadium by winning the Playoffs’ Host Rights. The ex -India’s filler spent a lot of time to convince the upper brass of the BCCI of the appropriateness of the stadium to host parties in the current weather conditions.

“Harbhajan was strongly driven by this. He convinced the main decision that the New Chandigarh is ready, both in terms of the facilities and enthusiasm of the audience. He was not only pressure; he was deeply involved in inspection, tone discussions and logistics planning visits,” said a source to Iians.

Harbhajan Singh is currently the main cricketing adviser of the Punjab Cricket Association. The former Cricleter Comparador has been actively promoting the cricket in the region after retiring from the game as a player.

In the meantime, the first qualifier will be played on May 29, while the eliminator will take place on May 30. The second qualifying will be played on June 1 before the final takes place on June 3.
