Although the continuation of the 2025 IPL has a serious doubt due to the mountain tension between India and Pakistan, the game between the Super Giants of Lucknow and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will move on as planned.
The reports stated that IPL 2025 could be postponed after the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was convened on Thursday (May 8) for security reasons. The decision to stop the game was made during the eleventh on Punjab Kings tickets, as players were asked to leave the field, while fans requested that they leave the stadium.

“Yes, the party has been called as a precautionary step, because there are some incidents that happened in Jammu, I think,” said IPL President Arun Dhumal.
Immediately after the party between Punjab and Delhi was called, the IPL governing body called an emergency meeting. The media reports also said that the IPL teams were in panic and that they could entail the postponement of IPL 2025.
However, the President of the IPL, Arun Dhumal, has confirmed that no decision has been made on the postponement of the tournament. Dhumal said that the BCCI still has to receive any government directive so far.
“We are now reviewing the situation. It is an evolving situation. We have not received any Government Directors. Obviously, the decision will be taken into account by the whole logistics,” Dhumal told PTI.
Speaking further, Dhumal also confirmed that the game between Lucknow and Bengaluru would advance on Friday (May 9). The game is scheduled to play in Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium. However, Dhumal also stated that things could change in the coming hours as “an evolutionary situation.”
“Yes, it is now, but it is obviously an evolving situation and any decision will be made taking into account the best interest of all interested parties,” said Dhumal.
In the meantime, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital players will be evacuated from Dharamsala through a special train. The train will leave Pathankot and will take the players, their relatives and the support staff of both teams in Delhi. Teams will travel to Pathankot by road.
The BCCI made the decision because Dharamsala Airport along with nearby airports are closed due to precautionary measures.
