The arsenal of Mikel Arteta has “enormous enthusiasm” to take advantage of the opportunity to make history against Paris Saint-Germain, despite going to his semifinal of the Champions League in the second part of the 1-0 in total.
The Gunners were the second best in the first stage at the Emirates Stadium and fell behind in the fourth minute on a Dembele Ousmane strike.
It could have been worse because Arsenal would have to have Bradley Barcola and Goncalo Ramos had the clear possibilities for PSG late.
But the task that Artea’s men face in the Parc des Princees on Wednesday is still nefarious.
In fact, only two teams have reached the final of the Champions League after losing the first section of the semifinal at home. Ajax was the first against Panathinaikos in 1995-96, and Tottenham became the second in his incredible last tie with Ajax in 2018-19.
However, Arteta insists that Arsenal is enjoying the challenge of trying to emulate his rivals in northern London to try to become the third team to get this feat.
“Huge enthusiasm, enormous energy,” Arteta said when he asked about the belief in the camp.
“We are a victory away from being the semifinal of the Champions League, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world against a great rival, it is not much better than that.

“We are here to make history and tomorrow we have a great opportunity. We present a result that gives us so much clarity about what we have to do. Very much learning from the first stage and the small one between the two teams.
“The result, in my opinion, should have been very different. So tomorrow, another opportunity to show you and win the right to be in the final.”
“To win the Champions League final, you have to do something exceptional throughout the tournament.
“We have done a lot of great things, but tomorrow in Paris, against this team it is time to do it. And we will raise the level of this team and start making history. This is an opportunity that we have ahead to do it.”
Arteta revealed that Jurien Timber, who was evaluated after losing the defeat of the Premier League last Saturday against Bournemouth with a blow.
Timber was trained on Tuesday as the supporter Riccardo Calafieri, who has not played since March due to a knee injury that suffered his international duty.
Asked about the availability of Calafieri, Arteta said, “He has traveled, and is in shape and ready to play when we need it. So it is great news, obviously.”
