Arsenal Hapertz striker has knee surgery

Arsenal striker, Kai Haviertz, has had a knee operation that the club has described as “minor”.

The German International lost last week’s victory 5-0 against Leeds after having won the problem during the victory at Manchester United on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

Havrtz, 26, was left out for three months last season after the leash surgery, but Gunners hope that the latter setback will only be for weeks.

A statement by Arsenal read: “In addition to suffering a knee injury after our recent match against Manchester United on August 17, subsequent evaluations and KAI specialized reviews confirmed that surgery would be required.

“Today, Kai has undergone a minor surgical procedure successfully. He will soon begin his recovery and rehabilitation program, with everyone focused on supporting Kai to ensure that he returns to physical fitness as soon as possible.”

Hartz will miss this weekend’s game against Liverpool, as well as Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard after ankle injuries and injuries respectively against Leeds.

Christian Norgaard and Ben White are also doubts about injuries, while Gabriel Jesus is still a long -term absent with a knee injury.

Arsenal has signed Ebechi Eze since Hapertz’s injury.
