Are unexpected attacks on the airfield for Ukraine?

Three days, and Ukraine still digested the full consequences of the Spider Operation Network, a large -scale attack on Sunday on Russia’s strategic aviation.

On Wednesday, an agency organized by the attack, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) released additional, bright staff about the attacks, as well as annoying the idea of ​​how the whole complex operation was carried out.

Satellite images that appeared from Sunday showing the destroyed outline of aircraft sitting on the asphalt at Olenya, Ivanovo, Dyagilevo and Belraya airports also help tell the story of unprecedented surgery.

For Ukrainian observers, the whole operation, a year-a-holf in creation, remains a miracle.

“This can be considered one of the most brilliant operations in our history,” Roman Pogorley, founder of Deepstate, a group of Ukrainian military analysts told me.

“We have shown that we can be strong, we can be creative and we can destroy our enemies, no matter how far they are.”

It is important to note that virtually all the information that appeared on Sunday was released by the SBU itself.

By blushing with his own success, he seeks to throw the operation in the best light. His information campaign was assisted by the fact that the Kremlin said nothing.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday after distributing medals to the SBU officers involved in the operation, Ukrainian President Floodimir Zelensky reiterated that 41 aircraft had been damaged or destroyed.

“Half of them cannot be restored,” he said, “and some will take years to repair if they can be restored at all.”

If the ceasefire was in place, he added that the spider web would not happen.

The last four -minute compilation, released by SBU, shows a number of key parts.

Pictures from the point of view of some of the 117 drones, we see that Russian strategic bombers, transport aircraft and airborne warning and control (AWACS) were hunted.

Fires can be seen how to rage on a number of affected planes.

For the first time, we look under the wings of some bombers, showing that they were already armed with cruise missiles that Russia used for the destructive effect in their air raids on Ukraine.

The drones, which many fired at a separate pilot, are sitting far in Ukraine, carefully and clearly aimed at vulnerable points, including the fuel sides located in the wings.

Some of the firing balls also believe that the tanks were full of fuel ready for takeoff.

One of the significant sections of the video shows drones conducted on two Beriev A-50s, a giant Awacs aircraft for the first time manufactured in the Soviet Union.

Of all the internet-oriented operations, the Spider, A-50, with its radar capable of seeing the goals and threats of more than 600 km (372 miles) may be the most important.

A full-scale invasion of 2022 is allegedly operating about nine A-50. By last Sunday, three were beaten or damaged in the previous drone attack.

Recent footage greatly follows that drones came into circular radar domes of two a-50, parked at Ivanovo North Air Force Base, in the northeast of Moscow.

Earlier on Wednesday, the SBU offered a brief look at another of the great features of Sunday: the use of specially built containers installed on flat trucks to transport armed drones to places close to four Russian baches.

Two videos show a truck that carries two wooden mobile houses complete with windows and doors.

One of the videos are clearly visible to the roof panels. The reports believe that they were distracted or otherwise removed shortly before the attacks, which allowed dozens of drones stored inside.

It is unknown when and where the video was shot, though the snow is visible near the road, it may be a few weeks or months ago.

In another video posted on the Russian television channel on Sunday, a police officer was spotted in one of the containers after the attack.

Seconds later, the container exploded, believing that he might have been secured.

How to evaluate the impact of such spectacular surgery?

“From a military point of view, this is a turning point in the war,” Aviation expert Anatoly Khrapsinsky told me.

“Because we have a significant blow to the image of Russia and the capabilities of the Russian Federation.”

Just over three months after Donald Trump ruined Volodymyr Zelensk, telling him that he had “no map”, Ukraine offered a persistent ripost.

“Ukraine has shown the whole world that Russia is actually weak and cannot defend itself internally,” Khrapshinsky said.

But this does not mean that Russia will change the course.

After his last conversation with Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump said two leaders were discussing Ukraine’s attacks.

“It was a good conversation,” President Trump posted the truth socially, “but not a conversation that would lead to immediate peace.”

“President Putin said, and it is very strong that he will have to respond to a recent attack on airfields.”
