Antimigration shares held across Poland

Antimigration protests took place in dozens of cities and cities across Poland.

On Saturday, most of the demonstrations attracted several hundred people and less, but the police estimated that about 3,000 participated in the largest rally in the southern city of Katowice.

The protests were organized by the far -right political group Konfederacja and another nationalist organization.

Politicians from the Confederate and the opposition and justice party warn the flood of illegal migration in Poland – but official data does not support their claims.

At some meetings in memory of a 24-year-old Polish woman killed in the Torun Central city, a moment of silence took place.

Rivarian rallies were held in the capital Warsaw several meters. There were no reports of violence.

Police have since arrested a Venezuelan man in this case.

Right politicians claim that Poland threatens the flood of illegal migrants.

Over the last decade, immigration has increased – but official data shows that this year migration is lower than in previous years.

Earlier this month, Poland presented checks on its borders with Germany and Lithuania after Berlin began to turn away to the asylum seekers. Germany presented its own control at Polish and Czech borders in 2023.

In March, Poland temporarily suspended the right of migrants who arrived in the country across the border from Belarus to apply for asylum.
