Anthony Mackie Did not lose itself while filming the final 8 mile rap battle against Emin – But he remembered things going very personal.
“We make the film and, you know, eminem is such a great dude,” Mackie, 46, remembered during Tuesday, March 11, from “The pigeonPodcast. “We’re on a set one day and it’s like, ‘Yo, it doesn’t make sense that we’re beef.’ And I was like, okay? ‘ And it’s like, ‘I need something.’ “
Mackie Papa Doc portrayed in the 2002 play, leader of the free world rap group who ultimately loses to B Gwbiwr B Eminem in an epic final rap match. During B-Rabbit verses, he claims to be the real name of Papa Doc, he went to a private school and that his parents were still married. According to Mackie, some of the shots towards him were personally, and they had “nothing to do” with his character.
“So we’re talking about, like, two hours, cooling. I go to the casino. The next day, we shoot the scene of the battle, which is why I’m standing there like, you’re talking about me. You’re not talking about Clarence! ”Mackie remembered, adding that his character’s frustrating face expression was his natural response to the lyrics of Eminem.

The actor claimed, “So before all 8 mile The final battle, it’s my googles and learns about me and all those things he makes fun of my head as a papa dock. ”. And then I’m like, ‘That’s a bit of Mr Marshall’s personal. … I grew up in a nice house, my parents were nice to me, why are you making fun of my head? ‘”

“The idea of going to a rapper from an actor’s perspective, you really only speak in poems. I always said, one of the biggest rapists (a) ever lived was Shakespeare, ”said Mackie during Chapter 2021 of Hot ones. “If I hadn’t received my training, I wouldn’t be able to play Tupac, Martin Luther King, Papa Doc, Falcon. The training is just something that gives you an extra layer to stand on. “
