General Muhazi Caineruga, son of President Uganda, confirmed the bodyguard of the leader of the detention, who went missing for five days.
Edward Sebuf reportedly, alias Eddie Mutwe, was taken away on Sunday by unidentified persons both in civilian clothes and in the Military Stones in the Central city of Kivan, causing indignation of the public.
In a number of reports on the X gene of the Caineruga, who is also the military chief of Uganda, said Mr. Sebufu was “in my basement”, taking a photo of the bodyguard with a clean Gogat.
Gene Caineruga’s remarks caused public anger with Ugandans using the #freeeddiemutwe hashtag to demand the release of Mr. Sebuf and his condemnation of his detention.
Gen. Caineruga often makes political comments that, according to his critics, contradicts the Code of Discipline of the Military.
The 51-year-old Army General has been seen as a possible successor to his father’s service Jober Museven since 1986, who denied that he was looking after his son in the presidency.
Gen Kainerugaba made many controversial statements on social media, touched upon the topics that are considered a taboo for the soldier.
In 2022, he made headlines to discuss the invasion of neighboring Kenya, a comment that forced his father to enter and apologize.
He recently caused anger with a tweet in which he threatened to cut off the opposition leader Robert Kyagulania, popularly known as Bobi Wine.
At the end of Thursday, he summoned another storm on social media after publishing a photo of Mr. Sebufu, a guard of Bobby wine, which appeared in a half -naked and pure shaved.
Bobbi wine said that Mr. Sebufu was “severely abducted” on Sunday from Kivang armed people who went to the micro -utility micro, people are called “drone” before he was knocked to an unknown place.
In a number of reports, Gen. Cainerugab said that his soldiers seized Mr. Subuf, “” liked the horse “, and he studied Runyankora, the language in which he spoke in Western Uganda while in custody.
He said that Mr. Sebouufu “looks very reasonable” after his beard was shaved “my boy”, citing his younger soldiers.
The general stated that he would only come out for a bodyguard if he ordered it to do so to his father, President Museven.
The Cainerugabe gene did not declare where Mr. Sebufu was held, or on which legal charges.
Security forces will not yet commented on this issue, but the Press Socialist Kitum Rusok said on Monday that he did not know that Mr. Sebuhu was taking place in any police station.
Opposition officials and social media users in Uganda demanded that the bodyguard be made in court when it is legal.
On Friday, in the capital, the Bobby Wine called for “solidarity”, accusing Gene Cainerba of “illegal retention, torture and degumanization” of her guard.
“This is a non -partisan opportunity to unite. Members of Eddie and other guides of good conscience, let’s unite in solidarity not only with Eddie, but also with all political prisoners!”, “Bobby wine is located on X.
In statementThe Uganda Law Society called for an immediate release of the guard, saying that his test is not an isolated case, but “part of the systematic campaign for silence dissent and the infusion of aspirations for freedom.”
The society was afraid that the army’s participation in this issue “emphasized the dangerous connection of the military power and political oppression”.
Mr. Sebuf, who oversees the personal safety of Bobby wine, was arrested several times and accused of various crimes, including treason and illegal ammunition. The opposition states that his arrests and accusations are politically motivated.
In local media, he has been a key goal in several opposition security repression, especially during elections and mobilization companies.
Baby wine, a popular singer, who for the second time in the 2026 elections announced his intention to challenge President Musevenni, often impedes political actions.
There is increasing concern about the orientation of opposition activists and supporters of security bodies, as political mobilization is intensified before the elections.
