VIRENDER SEHWAG has revealed a little-known chapter of her cricketing trip-one where she approached the retirement from one day international after being abandoned by then captain Ms woman.
The incident goes back to the 2007-08 series of the Commonwealth Bank in Australia, a Tri-Section competition with India, Australia and Sri Lanka. Sehwag, known for his fearsome Strokeplay, supported a lean race, managing only 81 runs in five games at an average of 16.20, with a higher score of 33.
“In the 2007-08 series against Australia, I played the first three games and then Mrs. Dhoni left me aside. Sehwag’s Hate Career, almost completed in 2008, became one of the best in India. It ended with 8,273 runs in 251 games, including 15 centuries, and marked celebrated 219 against the western Indies, the highest score of hatred at that time.
