An unknown case announced in case against officer in a black motorist’s deadly shooting

The judge announced the lawsuit after the juror was unable to sentence the murder of a police officer Michigan, who deadly shot a black man during the traffic stop.

Christopher Shuru was charged with murder of the second degree for killing 26-year-old Patrick Leah in Grand Repids, Michigan, April 4, 2022.

The murder of Mr. Lio, the Congolese immigrant, provoked broad protests and raised the issue of racial injustice and police in the focus.

“It’s painful. My family, my wife, we are bleeding,” said the father of Mr. Flax after the judge announced on Thursday. “We will continue to fight until we get true justice for Patrick.”

The need is a partial victory for Mr. Shura, who may still face another lawsuit.

The incident was caught on April 4 by graphic details, and on several sides on the Bodycam police chamber and a dashboard, eyewitness phone and door security system from a nearby home.

The footage shows that Mr. Lyoya escapes from Mr. Shura on foot after traffic stopping. Two men are fighting over Mr. Shura’s taser before he shoots Mr. Lio, who was face to the ground.

The fight over Taser was the main in defense of Mr. Shura, who testified that he was in great fear because the Taser could cause “painful pain” and injury.

“I believed that if I didn’t do it at the time, I wasn’t going to go home,” Mr. Shur said, shooting from Mr. Lio.

Mr. Shur, an officer in the Grand Police Department for seven years, was fired immediately after he was accused in 2022.

Patrick Lioja arrived in the US with his family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2014. He lived in Grand -Repids for about five years, according to civil rights prosecutor Benjamin Kremp, who represents the Lio family.

His murder caused a protest in Grand Repids, restoring the issues around the police and why the traffic stops with the participation of black people so often leads to a tragedy.

The disadvantage comes only a day after three former police officers were justified in murder at the murder of tires of Nichols, a black man who was beaten during a traffic stop in 2023.
