Detroit Lions athlete Amik Robertson remembers her last moments with draft hope 2025 Kyren lacy in front of his sudden death at the age of 24.
“Forever 2,” Robertson, 26, wrote through Instagram Stories on Sunday, April 13, alongside a picture of Lacy in his LSU uniform. “Take your rest lil bro 💜. “
The news broke several hours earlier That lacy, a former wide recipient of the University of Louisiana, had died. The cause of death has not been confirmed. (Weekly US have reached out for comments.)
Robertson also shared a picture of the pair’s final text messages on his Instagram story on Sunday.
“I need you to trust the process and put it in God’s hands. I know this is a difficult time, but my faith is high,” Robertson wrote on January 11, probably referring to the alleged Lacy hit and run case. “I don’t know what happened ‘because I don’t want to go into that. But, if you’re in the wrong, everyone makes mistakes. It’s all a learning process. Keep faith Brodie. I’m always here right or wrong.”
Lacy replied, “All love, brother.”
Lacy was arrested in December 2024 for his alleged part in a fatal car accident. He was charged with negligent manslaughter, hitting and running a felony and driving recklessly before being released on a bond. Lacy denied any part in the incident. A prestigious jury hearing regarding the case was scheduled for Monday, April 14, a day after Lacy’s death news made headlines.
In response to Lacy’s message, Robertson as well the old star lsu asked to “promise me to keep yo directly.”
“That’s all I’m asking,” Robertson wrote. “Don’t be put off by nothing.”
Lacy dropped a “heart” on the message and then said, “I promise, Bro Mawr! We went to speak in person!”
Lacy sent another message to Robertson late last month.
“Dat Bro appreciated,” he wrote on March 26. “Dat needs to be heard!”
Robertson responded, “(you know)! 🤝. “
Before his death, Lacy had declared for the draft 2025 NFL.
“LSU really has had a big impact on my life on and off the field over the last three years,” Lacy wrote in an Instagram statement in December 2024. “Playing at Death Valley, for the country’s best fans, was an experience I will never forget. There are no too many people having to achieve a dream like this. I’m grateful for forever.”
He added, “I am so appreciative of my support system (family, coaches, mentors, etc.) who have been there for me through the highs and lows. Thanks y’all for believing at all times!
The draft is expected to start on Thursday, April 24, which is 11 days after Lacy’s death.
