For the first time in 31 years American won Marathon in Los -egeles.
Matt Richtman, a native of Illinois, was the winner of what was the second largest in the history of the race, for ABC7. He ran 02:07:56 and inflicted the American flag after crossing the finish.

“It is definitely a surprise,” Richtman admitted after winning the ABC7 race. “You know, I felt very good; it’s really hard to judge where you are against competition, but it was a really good group there and I was very happy to run with these guys and then eventually win.”
Richtman was in front of Athanas Kioka in Kenya who ended the second Over time 2:10:55, while a colleague of Kenyan Kipta finished third at 2:13:13.
Richtman who was University of Montana The college’s boot added that he really “didn’t have too much strategy” to get away.
“The first half that I just wanted to stay in this group did not want to press the pace, or something like something, just to stay, feel it,” because it is a difficult course.

“The whole race I ran with a little fear. Hard if you don’t see what’s going on behind.”
Fear clearly pushed Richman into any equipment he needs to keep the pace and cross the finish line.
Richtman grateful to those who in the city of Los -Angeles who cheered him throughout the race.

“You know that this is such a wonderful day, the 40th anniversary (race), there is a lot of hereditary runners here, and its crowd was strange,” he said. “There were people throughout the course and it really helps. It is amazing how much the crowd can change the course of what you are doing.”
