All American Season 7 Trailer Mixes Returning Cast With The New Generation

“I can’t wait for everyone to watch season 7,” the showrunner Little Carroll say Us Weekly in an exclusive statement Thursday, December 19,. “It’s been so exciting to take him back to the high stakes of high school hallways, first loves and NFL dreams. And I am particularly proud and excited by this combination of our amazing original cast and the wonderful new generation that has captured our hearts. Beverly and Crenshaw are back stronger than ever.”

After season 6 the departure of the star of the series Daniel Ezra Spencer James, all american revealed that it would be revamped by introducing a new generation of teenagers. Season 7 will feature some returning faces; Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogoua Bre-Z each will navigate new roles, while Osy Ikhile, Nathaniel McIntyre, Antonio J. Bella Alexis Chikaeze make up the cast as new series directors. Kareem Grimes a Elias M. Cooper appear as additional ringing stars.

In we’ an exclusive first look at season 7 (which you can watch above), all american proves that the new generation will carry the same heart, NFL dream, cross-town rivalry and messy hormones introduced by the original cast. Fans of the characters they’ve come to love, meanwhile, are busy learning that they’re supposed to be the responsible adults now.

Jordan Baker, for example, appears to be taking over as coach at Crenshaw High School to follow in the footsteps of his late father, Billy Baker (Taye Diggs). “This is the first day of school. I don’t want to break it,” he tells his wife, Layla Keating (Onieogou) in the trailer.

While Layla assures Jordan that he will be an “amazing coach,” things prove more difficult than expected once Jordan finds himself in the middle of several physical altercations between his team – and he gets trouble finding the balance between coach and confidant.

“You do realize you’re not their teammate, right?” Jordan is asked at one point in the teaser, after enjoying a dance break with the kids.

Although others doubt it, Jordan seems to be on a mission to honor his father’s legacy. At one point in the trailer, he recruits a student, telling them, “I want you to come play for me,” alongside Billy asking Spencer to join him in Beverly Hills in the pilot.

Jordan isn’t the only one finding a new role. Elsewhere in the trailer, a new batch of students and coaches in high-end Beverly Hills begin their journey – and their competition – while Layla gives her own protégé some much-needed advice. “The longer you let people keep you in a box, the harder it is to break out,” he said.

Samantha Loganwho played Samantha Baker, also makes a brief appearance in the trailer and although Logan is not returning as a regular for season 7. “My dad was a winner,” he said in a speech as Jordan looked at his dad’s old shirt. “There wasn’t a single life he didn’t have a positive impact on.”

An All American debuted in 2018 and followed Spencer James – a young football prodigy from Crenshaw who is being recruited to play for Beverly Hills. The series is based on a real NFL star Spencer Paysinger and is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. Greg Berlanti, Okoro Carroll, Jameal Turner, Sarah Schechtera David Strauss are active producers.
