Al-Hilal Sign Darwin Nunez de Liverpool in a 46 million pound agreement

Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez has left Liverpool to join Al-Hilal in a three-year agreement, confirmed the Saudi Club of the Pro League.

The transfer, valued at £ 46.3 million, ends the two -year spell from Núñez to Anfield. Liverpool signed him from Benfica in June 2022 for an initial 64 million pounds.

During his time with the Reds, Nunez recorded 40 goals in 143 games. However, in the winning campaign of the Club Premier League title last season, it was limited to only eight league games.

A statement by Liverpool read: “Everyone in the club would like to thank Darwin for their contributions and wish -all the best for the future.”

Núñez has already linked to his new teammates in his German preseason camp.

His output could influence Liverpool’s transfer plans, particularly in his research at Alexander Isak in Newcastle. The Magpies have rejected an opening offer of 110 million pounds for the Sweden striker.

Núñez had an instant impact on his debut in Liverpool, marking in the 3-1 community victory over Manchester City in 2022. He also found the network in his debut at the Premier League, but was sent only to his second appearance in the League.

The injuries interrupted their pace during his first season, although he still managed 15 goals in 42 games. The next campaign was improved this value at 18 out of 54 outings. However, their opportunities were limited after Arne Slot took over Jurgen Klopp in 2024.

Last season, Nunez scored only seven times in 47 appearances. In his Premier League career with Liverpool, he scored 25 goals in 95 games, with almost half of these appearances (46) from the bench.
