Ajinkya Rahane makes a daring claim

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), directed by Ajinkya Rahane, played its 14th and last game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, May 25.

Ajinkya Rahane revealed that they had certain plans to deal with the explosive SRH shake unit, but the bowls did not execute these plans. Said:

“We have discussed the slowest balls, the widest bowls, the slowest balls too, but sometimes if the bowls do not execute the plan really well, batters like Klaasen and all the SRH batters … they beat very well. We were short in our execution, but they also made many mistakes at the entrances as a bowling unit.”

Ajinkya Rahane also said they lost 2-3 games close to IPL 2025, and if they had won these games, they would have been sitting in the first two places. KKR Ajinkya Rahane also labeled IPL as a very hard competition and promised that the Kolkata Knight Riders bounced off. Stated:

“Throughout the season, we had our moments, we had our possibilities, 2-3 nearby games that we thought did not play well as a team, as a unit. In addition, we tried our best, we gave our best. A format like this, you have to change each time. This format is really hard, this IPL is really hard.

“As a team, we had these possibilities, we had these moments, we would probably have been the number two at the table. But, without regret, many to learn from this season. All players tried as much as possible, they gave their best. We will be really stronger next year.”

How did KKR perform in the previous IPL match against SRH?

Kolkata Knight Riders offered a complete performance from the team to Eden Gardens on April 3, 2025 to crush Sunrisers Hyderabad for 80 runs.
