Air India confirmed that one of its flights was forced to turn over last week after plastic bags, rags and clothing killed most of its toilets, leaving many of 300 passengers in discomfort.
Delhi – 14 -hour tournament – spent almost two hours in the air before he returned to the United States.
Videos from within the plane showed the scenes of confusion when passengers huddled around the crew members, which seemed to explain the situation.
The incident was shocked by a live discussion in social media, and many Indians weighed on the bathroom etiquette.
Airplane toilets retain human waste in special tanks and use a vacuum system for washing. Usually they are thrown after the plane landed.
While the killed toilets are not uncommon, it is “next to the impossible” for all the toilets to collapse “from the guilt only passengers, and so that it causes emergency sabotage”, Mark Martin, expert on “Hindustan Times”.
The incident took place on the Air India 126 flight on March 5, but on Monday the airline outlined a statement in which he explained what happened.
It stated that items such as blankets, interior clothing and diapers were found earlier, thrown toilets.
“We use this opportunity to urge passengers to use the toilets only for the purposes for which they are intended,” the report said.
In a statement, the airline said that eight out of 12 toilets in the business and economy crashed after the crew members found bags, rags and clothes that were thrown and stuck in the plumbing. “
It released some pictures showing bags containing waste cleaned of toilets. One of the photos showed that the crew member holding the drainage pipe, completely filled with what seemed to be rags.
From the night restrictions at most European airports at the time, the airline said it could not distract the flight elsewhere – a return to Chicago.
“After landing in Chicago, all passengers and crew were usually planted and provided housing to minimize the inconvenience,” the company’s press -secretary said, adding that the delay was made “completely in the interests of passenger and security.”
The airline added that she offered full returns to passengers and flights were postponed.
On X, many criticized the airline for poor service and lack of sanitary institutions on their planes.
“Only Air India has such frequent failures. Honestly, what happened immediately,” said one of the users.
But others noted that the airline is not responsible for the situation.
“Can we honestly reset all the blame on Air India and the crew when people can’t follow the main travel etiquette?” said another user.
