Former cricketer Aakash Chopra expressed doubts over Abhimanyu Easwaran’s future as a Test opener for India. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra spoke about the possible candidates for India’s Test plans and asked if Easwaran is still in the selectors’ consideration.
“There were two national players with the team during the BGT but they were not given a single chance. One was Abhimanyu Easwaran and the second was Sarfaraz Khan. They saw Abhimanyu Easwaran in the India A matches. He didn’t to like and was ruled out,” said Chopra.
“He was declared a failure without being given a chance, which is a bit sad, but that’s the reality. Abhimanyu Easwaran is 29 years old. I don’t know if the Indian team will look at him again or not. However , Let’s be very honest, if Rohit Sharma goes, a first goal has to come,” added the former India batsman.
